Some of the best love stories begin in the most unexpected places—like a basketball game.

In December of 2020, our paths first crossed at a game. A glance was enough for Breanna to think Ethan was cute, and with a little courage (and Instagram), she added him. What started as a simple follow turned into months of messages, getting to know each other one conversation at a time.

After talking for a few months, we finally met in person on April 2, 2021. From that moment on, everything felt easy and familiar—like we had known each other far longer than we actually had. Just twelve days later, on April 14, 2021, Ethan officially asked Breanna out, and we began what would become the greatest adventure of our lives.

From late-night conversations to shared laughs, long hikes, and countless memories in between, Breanna and Ethan’s relationship grew stronger with every step. What began with a basketball game and a message turned into a love built on friendship, laughter, and choosing each other every day.

Years later, on a hike to Black Elk Peak in the Black Hills, surrounded by breathtaking views, Ethan asked Breanna to marry him.

She said yes.

What started with a chance meeting and a simple message has turned into a lifetime together. We can’t wait to continue our story, side by side, as we begin this next chapter as husband and wife.
